Can I Lose My Green Card If My Citizenship Is Denied?

A denial of citizenship does not usually result in the loss of a green card, but there are some exceptions

Fraud

  • If USCIS discovers that you committed fraud to obtain your green card, such as marriage fraud or lying about your time in the United States, they may deny your citizenship and initiate deportation proceedings.

Other reasons

  • If USCIS discovers that you:

    • Spent too much time outside the United States

    • Committed a crime that results in deportation

    • Became inadmissible upon reentry

    • Have substance abuse issues

If USCIS finds any issues that make you ineligible for permanent residence, they may revoke your green card, place you in immigration court, and deport you unless you successfully defend your case. It's crucial to consider hiring an experienced immigration attorney from Zafar Khan Law to protect your rights and avoid risking your status in America.
